During the 2022 - 2023 academic year, I worked with California Volunteers under their College Corps branch at SJSU. I was part of an amazing cohort that delivered interactive computer science education to underserved 3rd to 6th graders and collaborated with various local communities throughout the Bay Area.

  • August 2022 - May 2023
  • Educated elementary grade students by teaching computer science concepts through projects with step-by–step directions, relevant hands-on materials, and interactive games, enabling them to gain computer literacy through coding.
  • Developed and released a Scratch-based video game across 5 partnered elementary schools, engaging over 100 students.
  • Formulated a comprehensive project plan encompassing topic research, design, and development, while facilitating iterative feedback sessions to enhance game design and improve overall usability.
  • Collaborated with cross-functional teams to develop concepts and prototypes for testing, fostering strong partnerships to ensure efficiency and quality delivery within a 4-month timeframe.
  • Conducted recruitment efforts through tabling events on college campus to effectively engage with prospective members by providing information about the organization's initiatives.
  • Participated in team-building activities that strengthened cooperation, communication, and problem-solving skills.

    We developed a program kit focused on addressing an environmental issue while teaching a computer science concept. This project offered an environmental solution and utilized computer science to create a game that educates students on implementing impactful solutions to the issue.
